Email Threat Detection, Response, and Isolation (ETDRI) is an extension of Symantec Email Security.cloud that strengthens email protection by focusing on detecting, analyzing, and responding to advanced email threats. Optimized to detect advanced modern attacks, ETDRI uses technologies such as cloud sandboxing, URL protection on click, web browser isolation and "Office365 Clawback" to minimize the risk of suspicious emails.

ETDRI combines advanced behavior analysis, machine learning and network traffic assessment to more quickly identify complex attacks such as phishing and ransomware. Using the Symantec Global Intelligence Network, the system can collect data from over 175 million endpoints, providing deep visibility and faster response to threats. By automating the detection and isolation process, the system can immediately block malicious links, isolate suspicious attachments and neutralize dangerous websites in a dedicated virtual environment.

Click-time URL protection provides real-time protection against malicious links by performing deep evaluation and tracking of URL redirects that may use delayed launch techniques or shortened URLs. Thanks to "Office365 Clawback", the system is able to reverse emails that were delivered to the inbox but were later identified as malicious.

Additionally, ETDRI enables integration with other IT security systems, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), which allows for faster correlation and analysis of threats. With detailed reporting and analytics, users have full visibility into both clean and malicious emails.
