Open Value Subscription is a group licensing offer based on a subscription model, designed for companies that want to use Microsoft software without purchasing it as a perpetual license. Subscribing provides access to fully functional software and ongoing updates for the duration of the agreement.

 

To qualify, a subscription must cover at least five computers, including at least one platform product. The agreement lasts for three years. The Open Value Subscription program helps reduce and spread out software costs over time, as payments are made in annual installments, and the subscription is generally more affordable than purchasing a perpetual license.

 

Just like with Open Value licensing, OVS is available to all commercial entities as well as government organizations, healthcare institutions, educational institutions, charities, and international organizations.
